Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries

Lila has been in the dental hygiene profession for over 30 years. Having worked in private practice Lila brings invaluable practical experience to dental hygiene education. She has taught in both the public and private systems for the past 12 years and has been the program coordinator at the TCDHA since 2004. She is an ambassador for the Ontario Dental Hygienists Association and has participated as a subject matter expert for the National Dental Hygiene Certification Board Examination. Lila currently holds a Teacher of Adult Certification and is currently completing the final electives for her Bachelor of Adult Education.

Ms. Luba Agranovitch completed 2 years of Saratov's Pedagogical college (Russia) by 1990. In 1993, she was accepted into the 3rd year general science program as well as bachelor of education at the University of Alberta. In 1994, she was accepted into the University of Alberta Dental Hygiene program and graduated in 1996. Luba practiced dental hygiene for 11 years in the same general practice setting in Edmonton, Alberta. Since 2007, Luba has been working in Toronto in general practice. She has also been working at TCDHA as a dental hygiene clinical instructor and dental assisting level ll didactic and clinical instructor.

Graduated from George Brown College in both dental assisting and dental hygiene programs in 1995 and 2003 respectively. Gained valuable experience working as a dental hygienist in a variety of private dental offices in general practice and orthodontics. Continuing education includes many courses in orthodontics, periodontology and current studies include adult education at Brock University. Active member of the ODHA, CDHA and CDHO. Volunteer work includes dental hygiene services at Evergreen Centre for Street Youth.

Mindy Levine graduated from Dental Assisting in 1982, worked for 2 years as a Dental Assistant and then went into Dental Hygiene. She graduated Dental Hygiene in 1985. She worked full time in private practice from 1985 until 2004 at which time she started teaching at TCDHA part time as a clinical instructor. She has continued private practice one day a week. She has furthered her education with Teaching Methodology certificates and several other related courses to Dental Hygiene. She has been involved in two Dental Missions to third world countries which she says, has broadened her outlook on life.

Dr. Murray Wagman has been a clinical instructor at the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and Auxiliaries since they opened the doors in 2005. Before teaching, he was a General Practicing Dentist from 1960 – 2005, and Graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry from the University of Toronto in 1960. Throughout his career he has earned many accomplishments such as a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International (1985) and a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (1984). Dr. Wagman was also the president of the Toronto Academy of Dentistry from 1977-1978 and President of the Toronto East Dental Society from 1974-1975. Dr. Wagman has over 50 years of experience to pass onto our future graduates.

Anna-Maria Pereira–Purdon graduated with honours in Dental Assisting (1997) and Dental Hygiene (2000) from College Boreal. She is currently completing her Adult Education Degree through Brock University. In addition to her eleven years of dental hygiene clinical practice, her teaching experiences over the last four years have enabled her to implement the most effective skills and strategies to create a learning experience that fosters critical thinking, professionalism and the highest standards of dental hygiene practice.
